糖廠歷史~ The History of Sugar Refinery

　　十鼓文化村座落於具有百年歷史的台南製糖重鎮【台糖仁德糖廠】！
早期原名為車路墘糖廠，其腹地面積足足有五公頃，十鼓為鼓樂藝術成立主題文化園區的創舉，不但讓台灣鼓樂的發揚，有了重要基地，也讓文化的薪傳，更貼近民眾的生活。

　　說起台糖仁德糖廠，其實是一座舊式糖廠，從台灣糖業發展史來看，早在十七世紀，荷蘭人佔領台灣開始，台灣的糖業便已萌芽，在歷經了明鄭時期的開發，日治時期「台灣製糖株式會社」等過程，糖業早已成為台灣發展外銷的主力，可見，在過去台灣的經濟發展中，舊式糖廠的設立，正扮演著舉足輕重的角色，然而，伴隨著時間的流逝，舊式糖廠逐漸凋零，但是在有心的藝文界人士奔走及保存下，台糖仁德糖廠換上了新風貌，因此，當您來到這個距離台南市不到十分鐘的世外桃源後，您不但會依稀嗅到一股糖香，還將體驗到一場精彩豐富的藝術人文之旅。

　Ten Drum Culture Village is located at the historical Rende sugar refinery for one hundred year. Its original name is Che Lu Cian sugar refinery and it occupies 5 hectares. The pioneering work of establishing theme culture zone for drum music art makes not only the promotion of Taiwan drum music have a important base, but also the passing down of culture be closer to citizens.
　 Actually, the Rende sugar refinery is an old sugar refinery. We can look back the advance history of Taiwan sugar industry. In seventeen century, Taiwan sugar refinery has been germinated. Having experienced the exploitation of Ming-Jheng and Japanese colonial rule period, sugar industry has become the main force of Taiwan export trade. We can see the old sugar refineries in past economics development of Taiwan act as important roles. However, following the passing of time, old sugar refineries are gradually withered. Nevertheless, with enthusiastic people’s efforts and reservation of art culture field, the Rende refinery changes a whole new scene. Therefore, when you come to the Xanadu apart from Tainan city less than ten minutes, you will not only smell sugar balm, but also feel an amazing tourist of art culture.

創意改造行動!! Creatively Reconstruct

　　首先映入眼簾的，是糖廠裡高聳入天的老煙囪，意義上，它象徵了十鼓精神的堅不可摧，而對於好奇的遊客而言，老煙囪不但預告了接下來行程的多元與震撼，更提醒了您，即將親身接觸到的是，來自上上個世紀的台灣糖業史縮影，建築形式的保存，是十鼓文化村重建時的重要指南，十鼓團隊從不刻意以現代手法，掩飾歲月留下的跡痕，反而讓這裡的每一磚每一瓦，完整地訴說歷史。

　　因此，當您來到十鼓文化村，不妨細心留意建築中，前人留下的智慧，來到擊鼓體驗教室，這裏有十鼓團員熱心地為你解說著各種鼓的傳說，此外，這裏更可以讓您親身體驗，把運動的概念融入到學習鼓藝的殿堂，伴隨著輕鬆活潑的介紹，人人都可以領略到擊鼓的學問和樂趣。

　　在十鼓團隊的創意設計下，一座原為老舊的廢水處理槽，變成了一片充滿綠意的親子草原，在這裡，親子遊戲的歡笑聲，陣陣的散佈在十鼓文化村裡，您也許不相信，原來是蔗渣處理槽的地方，在經過十鼓團隊的改造後，已經變身成為一座美麗的蓮花池，過去，在完成「蔗汁」之前，需要藉助石灰，讓甘蔗汁裡的雜質沉澱，而產生的「蔗渣」，是甘蔗壓搾過程中所殘餘的廢棄物。為了因應台糖污水處理場的綠化，在園區的森呼吸步道裡，種滿了各種的植物，而十鼓團隊更以植草磚，打通林道，讓這片林地成為散步，騎自行車的最佳步道，而如果您再仔細看看，您將發現，台灣早期載運甘蔗的五分車，就座落於園中，成為了一種特別的景觀。

　　由肥料倉庫改建的小劇場，當初由於蔗渣太多，因此有人發揮創意，將蔗渣開發製作成紙漿，塑合板消音板的原料，甚至開發成有機堆肥，送到自已的農場，充當土壤改良之用，現在的小劇場，則是十鼓團隊，初期建設十鼓文化村時的前進指揮所，經過了整修，現在已經是可以容納兩百五十人的室內表演劇場，化腐朽為神奇的，還有我們的水槽劇場，在早期，這裏是台糖用來將工廠排放的熱水，冷卻用的一座大型冷卻槽，經過十鼓團隊的巧思設計後，這座廢棄的冷卻槽搖身一變，成為了四座獨立的戶外小劇場。

　 First of all, coming into our eyes is the old chimney of the sugar refinery reaching to the skies. In the meaning, it symbolizes impregnability of Ten Drum spirit. For curious visitors, the old chimney not only announces the diversification and shaking of following journey, but also reminds you will personally realize the epitome of Taiwan sugar industry from 19th century. The preservation of building is an important guide when rebuilding Ten Drum Culture Village.　Ten Drum never purposely use modern techniques to cover up the traces leaved by years. On the contrary, they let all tiles tell the history completely. Therefore, when you come to Ten Drum Culture Village, no harm in charily keeping watch for the wisdoms predecessors leaving in buildings.　In drum beating classroom, the members of Ten Drum explain every drum’s legend enthusiastically. Therefore, you can personally experience the palace hall of drum learning combining conception of exercise. Following relaxed and active introduction, everybody can realize the knowledge and interesting of drum beating. An old waste water treatment tank becomes a family plain full of evergreen by the creative design of Ten Drum
At here, the mirth of family gaming spread in Ten Drum Culture Village. You may not believe this place is a treatment tank of bagasses before. After adapted by Ten Drum, it has become a beautiful lotus pound. In the past, before sugar cane juice squeezed, we have to make the impurities deposit by lime. The bagasses are rejections of the process of squeezing sugar cane. Moreover, we also use grass growing bricks to get through the alameda, and make the forest become a wonderful alameda for walking and riding. If you look around more carefully, you will find out the small train conveying sugar canes in ancient Taiwan situated in the village. It becomes special scenery.
　 The small theater adapted from fertilizer warehouse because of the overmuch bagasses, somebody uses his creativity to make the bagasses become pulp, the material of durapanel and noise elimination board. Some are even more exploited to organic fertilizer and conveyed to self-farm to improve soil. The small theater now was the command post when building Ten Drum Culture Village in the initial stage. After refitting, it is an indoor performance theater for 250 people. One more miraculous is our water trough theater. Incipiently, this was a large cooling trough to cool hot water discharged by factories of Taiwan sugar industry. After artful design of Ten Drum, this unused cooling trough becomes 4 independent outdoor theaters.

未來展望!! Prospect

　　86 號快速道路的橙色倍力橋，成為了十鼓村南端大草原上澄橋的絕佳自然佈景，筆直聳立的台糖老煙囪，和橫跨在遠方的澄橋，兩兩相呼應著，一直一橫的造型，恰巧是十鼓的精神象徵，在這片大草原的促擁下，夜晚的老煙囪加上澄橋，將是藝術家們，盡情演出的天然舞台，而八方遊客們，也將為這場動人的藝術演出，與這塊富含文化跡痕的土地，留下難忘的驚嘆號。

　　走遍了十鼓文化村，其實，您才算剛開始認識這個地方，因為除了文化村所在的百年糖廠外，周邊還包括了以「永保安康」聞名的保安車站，台南都會公園，虎山國小，奇美博物館和台南市區等著名景點，在這獨一無二的環境裡，十鼓擊樂團期望與您創造出一場悅耳又攝人的打擊交響樂，合力獻給台灣這片美麗，又深具人文歷史的台灣大地，十鼓擊樂團目標就是要想要把這麼好的鼓樂，把它傳承給我們的下一代，並結合世界的傳統鼓樂文化，再融合自己的台灣鼓樂，為台灣在世界建立一個鼓樂文化藝術之島，也讓更多的民眾可以欣賞到十鼓現在有一個文化村，我們文化村裏面有鼓的博物館，還有室內劇場、戶外的夜間水漕劇場傳統製鼓文化館，再結合台糖百年糖廠文化，希望大家能夠以行動，來支持這個樂團，讓這個樂團，在鼓的文化志業有力量，能夠再往前往前衝刺，往前把它做的更好。

　 The orange bailey bridge of No.86 expressway becomes a wonderful nature scene on the south grassland of Ten Drum Culture Village. The soaring old chimney and the spanning orange bridge afar interact to symbolize the spirit of Ten Drum-「十」. In the embrace of the large grassland with the old chimney and orange bridge in the night, it will be a natural stage for artists to perform heartily. Visitors from everywhere also leave unforgettable exclamation points for this attractive art performance with the culture-rich land.

　 In fact, you just know this place when walking around Ten Drum Culture Village. Besides the centenary sugar refineries in culture village, there are still Pao An railroad station, Tainan city park, Hu Shan elementary school, Chi Mei museum and some other Tainan famous scenic spots. In the unique environment, Ten Drum Culture Village hope to create a harmonious and frightening percussion symphony with you to preset it to the beautiful and historic Taiwan. Ten Drum Percussion Group’s target is to pass down the wonderful drum music to our next generation, and combine traditional drum culture of the world to found a land of drum music culture art in Taiwan. We also make more visitors enjoy a culture village of Ten Drum. In the culture village, there are drum museum, indoor theater, outdoor night theater, and traditional drum making culture hall combing the culture of centenary Taiwan sugar refinery.
